Effective on October 1, 2013, the Federal Government has shutdown. Nevertheless, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of Michigan announced that its three locations in Detroit, Flint and Bay City, Michigan will remain open despite the shutdown and will continue full court operations until October 15, 2013. During this time, all court business will be conducted as usual. If you have a pending bankruptcy proceeding, please be aware that all scheduled 341 Meetings of Creditors, Confirmation Hearings, other court hearings, meetings and deadlines will remain in effect as scheduled. The Court’s Case Management and Electronic Files (CM/ECF) system will remain in operation for the electronic filing of documents with the court. The Bankruptcy Clerk’s Office will be and court staff will also be available to answer questions or assist the public by phone. If the government shutdown continues past the 10 days, the court will issue a notice with updated information.
